Your explanation on the difference between the crown prince and the Duke have a solid point.
I got annoyed by the crown prince frok the starting of the chapter like idk why but his personality just pisses me off. That Trying to act like a good guy on the outside but on the inside, a total possessive character. Just ew...... Atleast the Duke didn't fake his personality like how the crown prince did.

I'm weak to dark, flirty shitheads with a redemption arc (even if it's a lil weak). Trying to be a good person when their natural state is NOT GOOD PERSON...wins me over every time. I like the parallels between the crown prince and the Duke.
Crown prince "says and does all the right things" but he goes behind the MCs back.
Duke says and does all the wrong things, realizes he was a bitch if he really liked the MC, and apologizes.
The crown prince hasn't admitted to leaving marks on MC. Like........
At least the Duke said something. At least we are starting to see him treat MC less like an object. Even if it felt sudden.
