I liked the manhua before they made it into an interactive version that's so ass idk why tf anyone thought it was a good idea. THis version they are putting it through AI. It's been awhile since I've read it when the og artist was still working on it but I was willing to forgive because of how pretty the art was.
It captured that hazy atmosphere of their world well I think. The novel is so cute though although I don't like the ending it feels a bit lonely and bombing the whole outer district part and killing my favourite poet and that old man. But it's a very atmospheric novel ili

Manhua/manhwa adapted from novels are often like that. I don't know how you didn't even notice despite reading other novel adaptation. This same thing happens with dramas and series as well. They always leave some parts out, be it be minor or major parts because it would take too long to complete the comic or the series.
