idk but Koreans LOVE the dead parents/ growing up with the grandparents trope.. it’s almost in every drama that I watched too
Maybe to keep the character count on the low part, or they didn't want to include the stigma they brought to the story?

Like the fact sometimes they isekai, it just mentioned to include isekai genre. With no relation to the plot.
