The only one who ever treated him well especially in his crucial formative years should not be forgiven while he should care deeply about the ones in the village who treated him like dirt? Yeah that's what makes no sense. And expecting the reverse from him is what's actually overdone. If she was the one who instigated the villagers and he was expected to forgive her but didn't want to that would be another plot that was actually overdone not this one. BnFh.

The whole plot was interesting until the sister came along. Something about it just killed my interest. Especially after the killing of the entire village. After all that, MC is still hyper focused in believing there must have been a motive behind what she did. He's so quick to forgive her despite the over-the-top carnage she left behind.
Even if her motive was messianic in design, I just don't care. Plots like this just seem so overdone now.
