Nah the problem is not his legal age, it's his "mental age" that's creeping me out. Yeah sure, he may be 23yo but the way he thinks, acts, and does things are like a highschooler. If I were teach, I probably wouldn't be able to view him as an adult because it would feel like I'm doing something immoral. Think adults with brain development issues and have the mental capacity of a 10yo. Can you see yourself dating such an adult without feeling something's wrong?

I was thinking that too at first, but in the end it says he was in a coma for 3 years and in rehab for 2. So if he's 22, turning 23, his mental age would be 19 / 20?

Theoretically, but the way he acts around our MC still feels like a kid in high school. Maybe if they made him seem more mature I'd feel differently. Anywho, it's my own personal hangup and he is legal so heh ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I'm pretty sure... that's because they knew each other in highschool, so obviously he's gonna feel comfortable acting that way in front of bro... and how mature do you think a 23 year old is? it's not like mc is acting really mature either

Valid points, I was never that mature at 23 either. But for me it's more the comparison between the two. Like the teacher clearly acts more like an adult than the friend, and the friend acts very much like a child compared to the adult. I personally wouldn't be able to reconcile that dissonance but since they're both of legal age I guess it's ok. Like I said, tis my own problem to bear.

He went coma in around 17-18, and recovered in around 20, so his mental literally is around those ages. And you really think 22 will act like an adult? bc in my environment, even ppl over 30 will act like a kid when they’re around ppl who they feel comfortable. In this manga nothing is weird, but only Yamato didn’t check his loved one condition like he still alive or he died or something like that.

Honestly only in this story I can defend they dating bcs even when I'm 23 back then, I do still act immaturely. I don't think both of their behaviors are that much different to how 23 years old act. Also many people still goes to university at the age of 23 so I don't feel weird at all and ml did have 2 years doing rehabilitation so he already slowly catching up to "adulthood" by that point. 2 years are not short as some people make it to be, and knowing that ml use those years to rehabilitate really take a big mental load already
