In my opinion, it has to do with the maturity and the intimate scenes that draws a reader with it.

Actually even now, I don't really understand too why girls likes to read yaoi. Nomatter how I think about it, it's really weird and long ago I thought only gay people would read it too. But now that I've read a lot of yaoi, somehow I like reading it and I am a girl(●￣(ｴ)￣●)

Eh, ask her why people like shoujo,why people watch anime why people like to watch hentai.Boys likes some girl on girl action to go ask why they like lesbian porn.we like it because we prefer yaoi just like some people prefer shoujo why don't they ask why people like shoujo.? I love yaoi, its beautiful, can make you emotional, all different emotions. Maybe they just don't like it, so they wouldn't understand what we do. We girls can like what we want. And it's not just females either that read yaoi.

I mean, yaoi is a genre(?) made by (mainly) girls for girls. so of course girls would like it. but, I do find a lot of my male friends like yaoi as well. even tho our focus on "why we read and like yaoi" are totally different. but all is well.

maybe just maybe our taste on manga is different, and I am okay with that person can't understand why girls make such GWUAAAAA UWOOOO BUWWAAAA off yaoi. I can't help myself from loving yaoi so much, and it's not like I want people to understand the me that love yaoi.

Because sometime, girls have two types of boys they like.
