I’m curious as to what people think of when you’re on a “break” from a relationship. Do you consider as literally a break from it so you can focus on yourself more or an actual break up? Would you consider it cheating if you were on a break and your lover slept with someone? Texting other people? Flirting?
My opinion: I don’t see taking a break as an actual break up but to just literally take. a. break. from the person you’re dating and doing your own thing. BUT I personally think it’s cheating if my lover slept w/ smone else when we were on a break. Because it was just a break, not an actual break up. Also if you’re flirting w other people, just end it officially if you can’t be loyal or faithful.

I think that if you're considering going on a break, you might as well break up, but other than that my ideas pretty much line up with yours
I think the same as you. I do think you have to be clear on that matter though. I have a friend, and she and her bf fought a lot, so her bf said they should take a break. Funny enough my friend thought he meant breaking up. Now they still break up bc even though her bf wants to get back, my friend said she is not ready yet.
Yeah I agree w both of you. But there are literally people who don’t consider it cheating if you sleep w someone while on “break” and it’s usually the people saying that who did it :/
