hmmm I don’t know how much yaoi manga you have consumed, but from my experience I agree with the other comments, mangas tend to feel more like an actual queer story ! but my guess is that both mediums have all types of story’s, and it is the general public that likes the stereotypical yaoi, so they are more popular
So real. I could tell since I'm a woman with such kinks as well. But I've consumed a whole lot of BL mangas and manhwas, and the variety in mangas are so huge that even though manhwas are way popular now mostly because of the art, the color, and the stereotypical top and bottom energies, if you want actual diversity and variation, you'll still opt to read mangas. I found most unique, wholesome, and favourites of mine in Japanese BL tbh, but there are still lots of good manhwas.

since it's an anthology, you can clearly see the problem with korean bl. the feminitization of the bottoms is ridiculous. and the top is always taller, his dick bigger and he's always the dominant. nothing ever changes. i love the webtoon style, but japanese manga at least has more variation (and it's not even much, to begin with).
hope korean artists could do different things. and when im not even talking about those webtoons in which they are two monsters with the weirdest anatomy (why they do that? and even like that the top is still taller).
