I agree, though she didn't push him, she was probably an awkward mother. So they never really had a proper conversation. I wouldn't say she's right, but certainly it's not her fault only.

Jeez what an annoying mother that woman is his son is already trying his best even if he is or isn't a model student at least his trying his best that's good enough .I'm an honor student but my mom never pushes me instead I push myself
