Starts with Kyon asking Logan why he's drinking alone (he wanted a beer, apparently). Kyon says it's fine when he's with Ryan, but now what if Master sees him? Logan says Lucaon has been so busy lately that he just stays cooped up in his study.

Logan then asks Kyon if something has been bothering him since recently Kyon has been sighing a lot. Kyon denies it but thinks about the way he's been ignored. Since the (almost?) kiss, Lucaon has been pretending it didn't happen, unlike before (when he probably would've gotten angry or some kind of reaction). Kyon hopes he'll find time today to talk to him.

In the next scene, one of the servants is asking Kyon what to do with some garbage, when a zero attacks that servant. The zero lunges at Kyon.

Lucaon kills a zero attacking one of the servants. It's not just one or two zeroes, have they targeted him? He's worried about Kyon.

Scene cuts to Kyon with blood on his hands and Lucaon's knife. He's shaken up .... he just murdered someone, even if it was a zero. He sees a hand peek out the door, and joins Logan in the warehouse. He explains he's not hurt and the blood is from a zero. Logan asks if he's a hunter, which Kyon denies, so Logan mentions the knife is pretty dangerous for a non-Hunter to be using. Kyon agrees though he wouldn't have survived without it.

Logan covers Kyon's mouth as a zero walks past. Kyon wants to know how he heard the footsteps from so far away, but Logan changes the subject. How did the zeroes get here? (Remember, Lucaon's mansion is in the middle of nowhere.) Kyon agrees and wonders if Lucaon is the target....and decides to go find him. Logan tries to stop him (the master can defend himself and Hunters are coming soon). Kyon tells Logan to stay since the zeroes aren't checking every room.

The rest of the servants are in Lucaon's study. I can't quite make out who's talking (pretty sure it's the servants), but they're performing a headcount. Several are missing, including Kyon.

Kyon saves a servant from a zero. Something is wrong. They're slow, and shouldn't be this easy to kill. They stop at the top of the staircase, and Kyon surveys below. There are fewer zeroes than he thought, maybe Lucaon has killed them. He sees a dead servant from earlier, the one with the garbage, and feels bad he hadn't acted quickly enough.

All of a sudden, a hand reaches behind Kyon and the intron logo flashes on his neck. It's not a zero. Kyon falls, confused. The servant and Lucaon both shout Kyon's name. He thinks he can't lose the knife. Lucaon defeats a zero.

When he approaches Kyon, he slashes Lucaon in the eye and the chapter ends.
