I was thinking the same thing. Authors sometimes don't know when to stop, and I hope this is not one of them.
To be evil is to do things out of malice. He didn’t even understand why the MC would be angry with him after that happened. Like the MC said, he has a shallow understanding of the words he used: fairness, equity, etc. It’s like a child who still need to be taught life lessons, only they’ve been left to their own devices, except that child also has the power to kill you. That’s essentially how I see him for now.
Completely agree with you. Calling him evil is inaccurate. He just doesn't have a moral compass because he doesn't know better and bases everything on rigid rules. People might think this is a defence of his character but it's only an assessment based on facts.
Yeah I don't think he's evil evil, he's probably some sort of scientific experiment who was taught to do those things, but he still crushed a mother and her children to death so... Just hope he's able to change and he doesn't make his relationship toxic.
