Help, what’s with the ultra rich and their taste for sad white / beige house interiors ?

Logically I think it started off as you have one room that's got a lot of white furniture and it showed you had the money for a large enough house to have this fancy room that would be barely used. Now it more shows people that got so much money so quickly they didn't get a chance to cultivate a style or realize they could hire an interior designer to do it for them and getting everything in shades of white/grey makes for an easy match.
