I'll be honest Im definitely not a fan of the ending. Its basically one of those back to square one. I don't think any of the characters learn any lesson especially Takopi. Like it would be great if Takopi learn more about human emotions and realize some people are just not happy etc but i feel like they never went in depth. And no consequences for the adults too. I know it was probably intentional but i feel like the whole story is pointless if none of the character got any consequences.

    It's not really back to square one. Takopi sacrificed himself to save the children who were victims of their own environment. He made their wish come true.
    Them "learning a lesson" isn't really the point, but I'd also argue that statement is false, since it's hinted that the protagonists still have memories of Takopi, so I'm sure his existence had an impact on them
