Probably because he was the first male character near her age (who is not her brother after she's being adopted) who also happens to be in a powerful position.
Ps. It's been a while since I read it, and I haven't read the latest chapters too so I'm just saying why people would assume as such.
Why do you guys just assume that the crown prince is the ml?? That's so weird. He could just be her cousin/brother figure or just platonic friendship. Their dynamic doesn’t give any romance at all
