Well same thing with greek mythology. It is greatly respected but at the same time, it is also free IP. It is also less controversial because no one practice it anymore. Unlike hindu, Christian etc, people will get extremely mad because people still practice them.

The thing is, Greek ones are lenient because even Greek ppl dislike Zeus(main god) due to him being a rapist, his wife doesn't even like him. While for Egyptions, this is a great deal of disrespect as the practice/belief is still there. Example, Egyption ppl still greatly value their pyramids and protect them, pyramids are a symbol of divine connection to their old gods. Again, this manhwa is sloppy ass of rape fetish, disrespectful and toxic representation of ancient Egyption mythology.

I do not find rape enjoyful but i never saw the rape of Seth enjoyful and i guess no one did so i don't even know how you got that idea. Still, ancient scriptures are full of this shit so acting like is something new and awful to do in a manhwa that follows the source materiale it's a waste of time and dumb af.

Idk the fact that you are dismissing how greek mythology portrayed in media, but then got mad at how Egypt mytho is portrayed kinda lower your point. I have seen comments from actual Egyptians that they love this. The only one that doesn’t is homophobe who doesn’t like the interpretation of homosexuality. Anyway aside from that actual ancient Egypt mythology aren’t that different either. There are incest and grape (you name it).

I also thought this was the 1st story I'd seen in a while that actually depicted rape as HORRIBLE, nothing romantic about it. Besides, the source material has unpalatable stuff like a mother (Isis) manually masturbating her own kid (Horus) in order to get the "material" to put in his enemy's (Seth's) food. There was nothing "PG rated" or politically correct about old myths. And I've seen enough sects and cults destroying lives and breaking apart families that you can never convince me to turn of my critical thinking and take just anything as "sacred" just because it's "religious", as there used to be religions demanding the offering of human sacrifces (some that required women to grant sexual favors to priests, and others that requited women to literally prostitute themselves), and moreover, even nowadays there are always new "religions", as in weird new cults and sects, always sprouting everywhere, every day, where I live, all of them ready to trap more people to get money and worse for their so-called "high priests".

And the pyramids were built by slaves, on the orders of pharaohs who very often justified the torture and forced labor that they subjected slaves to by likening themselves to the Ancient Egyptian gods or claiming to be their descendants/incarnations (the sun god Ra even had other names like Aton and Amun which, you guessed it, were deliberately incorporated in the names of the pharaohs Akhenaton and Tutankhamun). So yeah... you can keep admiring the pyramids for all their splendor and ancient Egyptian religion and yada yada, but that doesn't mean you can just erase the blood and pain that i ALSO a part of their history. So NO, I don't believe in taking religions as "sacred" just they are, ignoring their "non sacred" less than healthy aspects.

No what I mean to say is... In terms of plot wise and character wise... This manhwa is shit. Ive read better Egyptian mythology based novels. This stuff glorifies rape in a relationship dynamic.

Some ppl portrayed greek/Egypt mythos in a good way/truthful, other ppl...however, uses it as they want (self insert) in a bad way to gain attention. To the point of tarnishing the image of the original mythos, this damage the cultural significance of Egyptian mythology. And for those(Egyptians) that enjoys this.... Hmm idk, quite disappointed
