Crazy statement!!! Just because she’s not the same age as other mothers.

Honestly, this whole trial is a shi show bc if they’re saying that the mother and stepson are having intimate relationship just because Shuri doesn’t know how to be a mother is such a crazy statement. Just because she’s young doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to take care of others. Even without the experience she could use her trauma from when she was treated by her parents as a way to not become the same person as her parents.

I know it is so insane but if we look at it in a historical sense. That is something that the church would 100% be able to do because they are acting on the “will” of god. It’s kinda crazy but it goes to show the power religion has over the masses, being able to justify your actions all on the basis of doing good. It kinda pisses me off but it’s also really interesting to me at the same time because often I’m historical mangas, they kinda ignore the major influences and power religion should have on the story and characters

It's really not that simple when it comes to holy trials. They're not saying that Shuri is not fit or doesn't know how to be a mother, but they are rather pointing towards Jeremy's lack of interest in girls his age, which sparked the scandal of him and Shuri having an affair.

In fact, Her motherhood is undeniable which brings them to the question of "why would she go so far for the people she's not even related with?". The church saw this as an opportunity yet again to spark a controversy to stir the neuschwanstein family in accusations of incest.

The church finds Shuri hard to keep in check which is why they are trying to get rid of her as the head of a powerful house. I don't know how but I guess it's also a display of power among the other nobles to not stand against the church. Because if the most powerful nobility in the empire couldn't escape the church, then no one will dare question them.

And lastly, if she brings up her experience from her childhood/biological family, it could be easily manipulated and used against them.
