I’m with you… I love those two but their whole dynamic is that Aki is unreasonable and while Tomoharu is the one that makes sense so he always is in the position of reigning in Aki, teaching him a lesson and Aki submits because Tomoharu « is always right ». It gets ridiculous when the author does it with this scenario when Tomoharu is the one being unreasonable and Aki is just asking for him to respect his boundaries. Like he’s not allowed any kind of agency or he gets the silent treatment until he submits.
Yes, and , so unnecessary because if she wanted to show Tomoharu being the alpha male who is always right, then why not "respect Aki's decision" and not touch him for a prolonged time until Aki himself breaks down and asks for sex, Aki can't resist without some action with Tomoharu anyway, but that was...shitty, honestly specially since his body gets the roughest part by being the Uke.
Honestly, it was just a stupid way for Yamamoto-sensei to say she was a chest person, that is all. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but it looks like she was stating it to someone, or the audience, through her characters (which happens). Just a stupid tiff, that will be forgotten about.
He didn’t get mad because Aki wouldn’t let him touch them, he got mad because Aki basically compared them to just hookups by saying they technically only needed the bottom halves. He was sad he wouldn’t be able to touch his nipples for a while yes, but that little comment about the bottom halves is what stuck in his head and got him upset
I agree. I can understand why people are upset with Ueda, because as great as he is, one of his worst features is shutting Aki out when he’s annoyed. (Much like how he did when the cousin was introduced.) He’s not used to relationships, so he’s not going to be the best at it. (Though I think he does a great job in a lot of areas.)
Maybe I view it differently because I’m ace (and headcanon Tomoharu to be as well, but that’s not really relevant here).
Aki is well within his right to express to him that he doesn’t want him to touch him in a certain way. But Tomoharu is ALSO well within his right to abstain from touching Aki at all. Being told not to do the thing you enjoy about sex, but still being expected to have sex, would make someone upset. He was trying to express that. Acting like the only thing that mattered was sticking the thing in the thing bothered him, so he took a step back. This was really hard for Aki, because he’s rather hypersexual, so he ended up caving. That was also after a conversation with Ayato, who helped him understand how Ueda was feeling—because, again, he’s not the greatest at doing that himself.
Do I think Tomoharu is always right and Aki is always wrong? No. Not at all. But I DO think that Aki is totally fine with how things resolved. I don’t think he cares about who apologized, or who was in the right. He wanted to be able to be intimate with his boyfriend again, and that’s what he got.
Also, is it a little silly to have a big argument over nipples? Sure, maybe. But it’s really just about boundaries and compatibility, and there’s nothing silly about that. (づ￣ ³￣)づ
That was the dumbest argument ever. I get that the mangaka wanted a bit of beef, but come on. That was crappy. And not ok. If Aki says he doesn't want them touched for a month especially because they hurt, that should simply be respected. Why was it only him having to apologize just for Ueda doing what he wants. Yes, it might not be that deep, but the whole thing was ridiculous. We live in a mafia world and that's two chapters?!
