If you think pubescent kids aren’t horny, you’re delusional. Also, like laylay said, schools in different countries have different year groups/grades than others so Japan has its own system and your country does too. If a teen boy is being a horny teen boy and fantasising about his teen crush, who cares? That’s literally what their bodies are designed to do! Even if they don’t have a crush, their bodies will make them have freak boners and wet dreams because that’s just how puberty works. Same for girls. You’re acting like you were never a teen in puberty.

I do agree with you to an extent but everybody experiences puberty differently so some may not have had a sexual drive at all and for them it's hard to comprehend the fact that other's did. Heck the only reason I was able to understand that others did when I was that age was because I knew what age my mom had me and my siblings.

But schools teach you about the changes your body goes through with or without sexual urges. People with penises all have “freak boners” where the body makes them erect even when they don’t feel any sexual urges. It could be from being too tired, from wake up in the morning, or from absolutely nothing at all. I’m a woman and even I got taught about the many boners boys go through because it was important to understand that especially during that time period, they can’t control it but also for the rest of their lives, I’ll happen. Same with vagina having people. Sometimes our nipples and clits get swollen or harden and throb for absolutely no reason. Everyone can (and usually do) have that experience. It’s not just a sexual thing although not many people are Demisexual or asexual compared to all the other sexualities. The vast majority of all people on the planet feel sexual urges and it does start at puberty (and sometimes before puberty like when toddlers discover their own genitals and realise it feels nice and calming to touch them). It’s a normal part of life and making it a taboo actually makes it harder for everyone. You don’t have to understand sexual urges, you just have to acknowledge and accept they exist for the vast majority of people and that it will be expressed in media. If you don’t feel comfortable consuming a certain type of media, don’t consume it. Not everything is made for you just like not everything is made for me and everyone else in the world. We can pick and choose what is comfortable for us and that’s okay but we do also need to acknowledge that other people have different tastes and their tastes aren’t wrong just because we personally don’t feel the same way.

One, most schools at least in the US do not go into any type of depth like that. They teach you very very basic things about puberty. They don't even teach girls about their periods aside from the fact that they get them. My sex ed class was a couple hours long and I went to a good school. (If you live in the US and had a good sex ed class then that's great. But the vast majority of kids here don't and it's only getting worse.) We did get health class in highschool but puberty and sex education were a very tiny part of that class. Two, I in no way stated or implied we should be shaming or making it taboo. My original comment was a response to you saying "You’re acting like you were never a teen in puberty." Considering you don't know their experience of going through puberty. I was simply stating some people don't know that many people going through puberty have sexual urges. In fact many people have no idea how their bodies work well into adulthood. So that might be why it was weird for the original commenter to see that. I think it's great to educate people but I don't think they should be shamed for being ignorant on a topic.

I’m not shaming them for being ignorant. I’m shaming them for acting like sexual desires in teens is a taboo and shouldn’t ever be shown. I don’t live in the us and honestly I feel really bad that your education system is so lacking that you don’t even get good enough sex education. In my class, my teacher brought a dildo and one of those anatomical figures of a vagina so we could understand both what it looks like and what’s going on inside but also how to use various barrier type contraceptions. This was obviously done in high school but even in middle school (age 10/11), we got taught about puberty and our bodies and how they change including things like sexual desires, wet dreams and physical changes (not limited to the genitals). The teacher even gave us pads and tampons to take home for the girls and condoms were given out in high school as well as being told the teacher can help us get a “condom card” so we can get free condoms and lube from the pharmacy. We also got taught about sexual infections and diseases and told what would happen if we needed to go to the doctor to get tested and how often to get tested. I can’t imagine living in a place where this level of preparation and education isn’t the norm. They did all of this for us so we can practice safe and healthy sex (whenever we choose to start if at all) and can avoid teen pregnancies. They gave us a foolproof way to stay safe. I sincerely hope that America gets this level of sex education one day. It’s so necessary.

If they don't know that for kids going through puberty having sexual urges is normal and they find it weird that somone they think is no older than 12 is having sexual urges then that is shaming them for being ignorant. I would also like to point out having sexual urges during puberty is fine but it is illegal in at least some states for anybody under the age of 13 to have sex (13-15 can have sex with one another but not anybody 16 and older, while 16 is the age of consent, though this neither would apply in this case since their the same age. I just wanted to add it in for clarification). Which again might add to them feeling uncomfortable with reading that when they think the person is 12. If they live in the US that is. On top of all of that even if they are treating it like it is taboo there are many people mainly because of religion in the US who treat it like it is, the lies that have been fed to children especially boys about what would happen to them if they masturbated is wild. It has been getting better but many times they are still trained and manipulated into believing they'll go to hell for having "normal bodies". Either way, no matter why they felt uncomfortable with it simply educating them would have been fine.
