It’s very obviously Implied he likes men for sadistic reasons. When a woman is raped she may just go limp with it because she knows she’ll get to live at the end of it (not all but if you watch crime cases). A man however may fight tooth and nail because they’d rather die than have that taken from them. (The cop being the perfect example, he didn’t care about dying but being taken? Nu uh).
