very nice! though a pinch unsatisfying. i believe his arc would have been tied up nicely if they reconciled and became friends (NOT LOVERS AGAIN she lowkey wronged him). but honestly, i much prefer them simply never truly reuniting if it means they wont get together lol

for me personally, its the way she thinks of him like he was a bad person purely because he was lazy. of course, we dont know all the details, but someone being unmotivated - especially for long stretches of time - usually hints at larger mental issues like depression rather than simply a personality trait. we can see how she treats him badly in how she literally based a villain character off of him. deculein is constantly described as evil, cruel trash of the earth and literally dies in almost every ending.. that isnt normal when she based the character off a real person who wasn't even toxic towards her.
