I get what you mean but you also need to remember that the setting is in Japan. People don't go around talking about their private life and, more importantly, it's really hard for people who are not straight to say it to others. They can have problems at work or with friends if they are not open minded
I know everyone is mad about glasses guy, but he might have just asked out of curiosity if that was his boyfriend. It's not like he would know that Hitsuji is not open about it since Hitsuji did tell him when they were college friends. I feel like glasses guy will end up apologizing to him about his asshole nature back in college since the dude seemed genuinely happy to encounter him. Or I'm hoping that's the role he plays. The artist did draw the glasses guy with a sweat drop after they ran away from him in the store.
