And of course, I’m just waiting for people to chime in with, ‘Well, they’re not in a relationship yet, so there’s nothing wrong here.’ Right — because emotional damage has a start date, apparently. The truth is, it is wrong. If you end up in a relationship after that kind of behavior, one person always ends up carrying the humiliation.
There’s something to be said for basic decency. Sleeping around might seem like just ‘harmless fun’ at the time, but the past doesn’t magically disappear the moment someone decides to settle down. When your history walks into the room before you do — in the form of awkward introductions, knowing glances, or shared memories with half the people at the party — it does affect the relationship. Not because of insecurity, but because dignity and self-respect still mean something.
And wait for ppl to chime in about 'purity culture' and pointing out 'prudes'.
I dont get why ppl think it's alright to sleep around. I think that's being animalistic with no self control. Idc how harsh that sounds. I prefer a sincere relationship and having a single person to sincerely love. If I don't then I'd rather remain celibate.
