I think its cause the pace of the webtoon isnt the same as the novel, in the novel the tension is undeniable at this point of the story and josh doesnt deny that he does find chase attractive despite being unhinged. If anything, josh is a bit unhinged himself

There's more tension in the novel and after all chase is his alpha n babydaddy so he still feels something
