loved the anime,,, but now im terrified of reading this coz of the comments

I don't understand them, I loved the manga when I was a teen and still find it cute now. The story is almost the same as the anime but it continues after that so if you loved it you'll almost certainly like the manga too

Don't gaf about those comments. They're asking for 2020s moral standards from a late 90s-2000s romcom.
