I think your misunderstanding something from what I have seen it looks more like the father was trying to protect her from the royal family like he knows something bad will happen to her if she gets close to the capital.
the mother I don't understand her behaviour but seems like she emotionally unstable.like she is disturbed by something that happened.
The brother is well a brat and is just copying what his parents were doing not knowing the reason why.
All and all the father isn't a bad guy but that doesn't mean the mc will forgive him because just like the father and grandfather relationship it wasn't like the grandfather was a bad person but that technically doesn't make him a good parent

Yeah, from that one scene it looks like he had some kind of premonition or dreamt of the future but it doesn't justify what he has done. The mother is even less justified. The brother is just a brat with a poor personality.
If it really was just to protect her he didn't need to ignore her, lock her up, deny her education and company, look down on her, neglect her, spend less money on her than on the cat etc. He wasn't protecting her, he looked wary of her instead
Your way of thinking is completely valid tbh but well whatever the main character journey is only starting for now
