It's definitely not grooming.
The uncle JaeHee has feelings for the dad, and wanted to be his wife, so he asked Jeong's son to call him "mom", but the thought of being "mom" to Jeong's son is what turns him on, because he associates it with being the mother of Jeong's child. He has no sexual feelings twds the child. And as soon as he bad realized his sexual feelings being associated with the word "mom", he bailed right away. I know they played mom and dad, but it was not in a sexual way, bcz ppl often role play for fun, between friends family members, etc. So ppl are misreading that or just don't understand. I mean, yes, certain stories can contain that element, but not this one. And the child is too young to understand any sexual meaning behind it. But he came to understand it on his OWN as he grew older. The uncle left and he found the uncle on his own. He never tried to coax or acted sexually with him. Being roles of mother and father means having relationship of a father and mother, and those roles are more than just sexual.
Tyyy so much an myb for the late reply. That’s what I was thinking because it just didn’t make sense for it to be considered grooming based on the events of the story. Like I said earlier grooming in when an adult is actively involved in a child’s life and coaxing or emotionally manipulating them until they’re of age so then it’d be technically ‘legal’. Basically forming a relationship with the child that goes beyond a proper adult and child relationship and then waiting until they’re older to make it official, which is disgusting behavior btw. And in their case the adult removed himself from the child’s life once he began having improper thoughts about a child calling him mom, that weren’t directed towards the child but the father of the child. Can someone explain to me how yall consider this grooming? I’m like genuinely curious. To me it doesn’t quite cross that line but I can see how it would be seen that way. My personal definition of grooming is when the adult is actively involved in the child’s life and talking them into getting together with them once they’re older. That’s why I don’t think this quite crosses that line. Because the son developed feelings on his own and the MC left for 14 years without any contact. So if someone could provide me an explanation on how this is considered grooming, it’d be much appreciated. Also just to clarify I’m not supporting any of that and the story is still weird it’s just that that’s my definition of grooming, so I’m asking for an explanation.
