its actually pretty common for coma patients to finish high school if they wake up in enough time. if someone were to be in a coma for 10+ years then it becomes extremely difficult for that person to integrate back into society, so the ideal scenario is to send someone back to school to get their diploma while also integrating with their peers.
for coma patient it's the best thing to put them back into familiar surroundings like school, instead of isolating them,
I appreciate the author's attempt to make a teacher x student with no age gap but the whole premise made no sense. Being an adult in high school sounds like a literal nightmare
