Its my own personal rule to just assume transmigrator's brains retain their knowledge, but their bodies and newly undeveloped brains DO hold them back. It makes digesting stories easier.
Just a quick add, but people aren't smart all the time. We do dumb things. Her opening that door? Stupid as hell. Am I cringing at her naivete? Absolutely. But I don't think her having a lapse in judgement here is enough to label her stupid. She wants to be confined so she isn't being overworked. She's smart because she had no choice if she wanted to survive.
As readers, we have the ability to look inside her world and call out her dumb decisions and get angry about them. She isn't doing what WE think an ideal intelligent person would do, so it makes us angry.
Within the story, in which she has shown on multiple occasions that her judgement of social situations is NOT on par with her ability to manage a kingdom, her lapse of judgement is irritating but not random.
(I do agree that the reincarnation wasn't actually necessary. She could just be naturally gifted. But ig that doesn't make for a fun protag?)
i didn't label her stupid just street dumb but a lot of the people in the comments are going to drop this because she feels stupid lol. we were introduced to her as the "brain" behind the solt kingdom for multiple years AND a transmigrated adult woman. i think its hard not to feel like her character is disappointing.
the note he wrote for her was so specific and i quote: "dont open the door for anyone, even me". it doesnt say don't trust anyone or something cryptic and hard to understand, it literally means "just dont open the door tonight" and she opens the door like immediately LOL. she can read, she just doesn't wanna listen for no apparent reason even though shes a homebody so shouldnt she like being unbothered for the night? overall just bad sloppy writing
