Story is so cliche but definitely cute loll personally the side trope is still odd despite their ages not being rlly far apart wouldve been a lil better if the merman wasnt a student honestly

    Well the only reason he’s in school is because he was living in the ocean where survival was the main goal. Highschool is a safe (mostly should be) environment he can be in to learn how to communicate with people so he can be independent. He may seem developmentally delayed or not as mature but it’s purely the language barrier. He is learning the language but has complex mature thoughts and emotions. Also poor Arishia…why did Lance put that show on…did he even read the title #-.-)

    Loll thank u for explaining. I did understand that bc of the language barrier he needed some sort of education I just cant get past the student/staff trope going on but im sure ill get there! And literally poor Arishia

    Yeah feels a bit like the author is trying to create the studentXteacher trope but in a legal none predator way. I understand your struggle haha

    I wish they could've aged up the merman to his twenties at least. He's 19 while the panther guy is around 25. And like u said, not a huge age gap, but would've liked it more
