I feel like everyone who's mad about Tommy's choices is looking for a cut and dry 3 act romance without complications or messy realistic characters. There's plenty of that to be found to read elsewhere.
The type of story this actually is, is rare. I only ship Tommy with a guy she likes, so if she stops liking a guy then I'm done shipping it. If she likes more than one guy at the same time, I'm shipping it.
None of the characterizations feel forced or out of nowhere. It's natural progression with a lot of buildup. I hated Linus when she hated Linus but he's redeemed himself to Tommy and she's liking him again so now i like him too.
