Both of them are either not listening or not telling the other what they're thinking— like everything that they've been thinking.
Maxi be like, "when will he understand that being with him is the most important thing for me? That I feel most alive when I'm with him. But let me just tell him that I want to be him — that doesn't sound selfish at all while I haven't told him that my family was kind of abusive and unloving. That's too embarrassing, but I hope he understands me now."
And Riftan be like, "
