Bruh idk maybe I'm a gramps but if I was wed to a child and viewed them more as someone to guard/raise, my perspective would stay the same throughout my life no matter how much time had been spent away. Like... the yearning is beautiful but I would literally feel so disgusting if I felt attraction to the person I helped RAISE! Am I crazy???
I wonder if this story is trying to "balance" it out by making the power imbalance be in favor of the younger guy (being a monarch & "chosen one" & obsession towards "beloved").
Side note: when he says beloved I just think of that meme "beloved" with the crappy cg heart locket opening to the image of the derpy cat.
Still though . Would the story change if the gold eyes guy was an adult when he first met red eyes guy? Like we could still have the yearning and shit. Like is nitpicking a yaoi a waste of time? Yes. But am I still going to do it? Yes.
