I interpreted this more as how losing yourself in a relationship, codependency but also manipulation can be toxic. Mc is a shepherd where his only responsibility is the sheep, their safety, their well-being-- just like how we are responsible for our selves, our mental health, setting boundaries, self preservation, who we let into our lives, etc. ML/Wolf is a partner who has MC questioning his own boundaries, his reality, his self preservation, and when he puts MC in a position to go against his morals, is convincing MC that ML's perception and needs are more important-- creating a codependency. MC goes along with everything, thinking this relationship is healthy and happy only to realize it was abusive and he lost everything (his self but maybe also how others view him). Him killing himself is ,I think, him repeating that cycle, giving in to the abuse, and representation of how the Wolf stripped him of what was left of his self.
THANK YOU. I felt this too. The people who say this plot sucks clearly don’t understand the beauty in this short. It sounds cringe but this one’s pretty deep
