I just want to humbly ask you if we're reading the same manga here because in my opinion, she is standing up for herself bit by bit! Before she couldn't stand up to someone especially one who's similar to her sister but in the middle, she stood up against her handmaiden's sister who also acts similar to her older sister. This is quite a feat for someone who had YEARS of intense trauma by her sister and the people around her who all pointed that she was useless, being compared to her sister no matter how much she effort she places in, and that she didn't deserve to be born because she "killed" her mother from birth.
FL doesn't have to give a commanding presence, as you put it, all of a sudden as this pace seems alright for someone recovering from that kind of traumatic experience. To each their own on how they will tackle on from their past but her slowly being able to get back up is valid and normal. I also like how she doesn't really stretch our her feelings for the ML while the ML had some doubts about everything but was immediately solved without worry.
Also, I don't think "giving the ick" is an appropriate wording for this as it usually connotates to heavily disgusts in tone as well. Might I suggest that the FL is not to your taste instead? As I assume from how you commentated, you are used to strong headed FLs.
yeah u were right about me using ick as the wrong word LOL i was sleepy asf when i typed that. i get that she's standing up for herself little by little and that's fine, i just find her character annoying sometimes bc like u said, i fw strong headed fls more. heck, even teo called her out in one chapter i agree that fl's character is realistic and a good depiction of how years of abuse and pstd affects you growing up but i am really hoping for her character to develop more into someone strong headed and can handle certain situations/confrontations better (similar to the fl of Being A Maid is Better Than Being A Princess) rather than remain weak minded and needing other people to come to her aid all the time.

liking the story so fr but the fl is lowkey giving me the ick… yeah she’s kind and all but i hope she learns to stand up for herself more and give a commanding presence she’s way too kind and weak for her own good that it’s irritating me a little. ik her pstd is bad but brah stand your ground!
