I had the same thoughts!!! He basically got no punished for causing the whole thing. The only punishment i could think of was him getting injured protecting the Empress but that was just so the Empress can forgive him. I was really rooting for the divorce
I think it was funny that the empire joked about getting compensation from Ologos because the King was hesitating when fighting Nicana. However you can make the argument that Ologos and Dunamis could ask for compensation from the empire because of the king's negligence in handling his kingdoms affairs. Like it would have never gotten to this point if the king had acknowledged his sister's unhealthy obsession and did something about it. He is the root cause of this and I think he should have suffered more and gotten reprimanded from the other kingdoms more.
