I think it's kind of the plot. Both of them are really bad at communicating. The story is how their relationship overcomes that.

These type of characters are honestly quite realistic. Although people get a little annoyed that they won't speak their minds properly it actually shows a part of why they're like that to begin with. I think people are mistaking their shyness and quietness as how they're written out. But what has been shown is that they actually have an Anxiety Disorder. It can be extremely hard to face anyone if you have one.

I dislike how you guys think it's very simply to get over long standing communication issues. The fact that Ayumu is trying seems so miniscule to you when it's actually a big deal.

I think Ayumu is actually wonderful and inspiring. He has been living with communication issues for most of his life but he would always talk when he is required. He went out of his comfort zone to tell the girl she was wrong for wrongly accusing. Mind you, this was in front of so many people. People were paying attention to the commotion. This makes it HARDER for people like him to talk but he still did it. He told the girl again that the seme wasn't angry, he was just shy. He did not have an urgent or real need to tell people that the seme is simply shy. The seme wasn't in trouble or in danger but he still told the girl any way for the seme's sake. He went out of his severe fear of talking to communicate these things because he cares for the seme.

It's quite sad that you guys can't appreciate someone who has severe fear of communication to do those things because he doesn't want someone else to feel bad. Not even for himself.

I think you have to look at yourselves because you may be one of the reasons these people exist/continue to fear communication. Instead of understanding their fears and being patient with them, you rather lash out and have unrealistic expectations and expect fast results.

Always appreciate effort no matter how little and open your eyes and realise not everybody is the same as you and can do the same as you can. That thought is selfish and harmful.

But, since I was looking at it from a shonen ai fiction point of view, I never really considered these things since its shonen ai AND fiction, and really s'bout time child spoke his feelings. I'm not saying that irl people should just say what they truly feel even if you got problems communicating.
