WiKun and Shushu are best friends, they've known each other since kindergarten. They've gone to school together in Hong Kong for most of their lives, are both "only children", and are both "Golden" (Shushu is a Golden Omega and WiKun is a Golden Alpha... well, WiKun is something else too, but I won't spoil what wasn't asked for).
WiKun feels guilty for and deeply regrets something he didn't say and do in the past that immensely impacted Shushu, and negatively altered his life. He's completely torn up about it, and because of that, he's protective of Shushu.
There is no romantic element between them. WiKun refers to him as a "brother".
As the other commenter said, they’re best friends to the point of being like brothers. I felt angst too when reading the novel and expecting some love triangle but no, from here on out since their first intimate moments together (which is the latest chapter in the manhwa), the ML locks in. You can almost say MC is gonna be his first love. He’ll feel the Alpha’s protective instinct to their omega for the first time with MC, and the novel explains that only happens when an alpha is loyal to only one omega ╮(￣▽￣)╭ so our hearts are safe from any love triangle angst lol
Alright I just read the novel. ML might’ve been a bitch at first but it’s just how he is with people he’s not close with but it’s changing soon. He might act cold after their first intimate encounter but he’s just calculating how to lure the MC because in his mind, MC isn’t as interested lol. He’s just pretending lol. He’s being very careful not to fuck it up, he’s already attracted to MC and he’s not afraid of it, he’s just confused at what MC is lol because he knows he’s omega but confused why MC thinks he’s a beta lol so he doesn’t wanna scare the MC (MC doesn’t know he’s releasing pheromones only the ML can smell). No love triangle going on. ML is going to be super loyal and devoted to the MC.
He’s the very definition of a caring doting alpha who CRAVES AND YEARNS for his omega, he doesn’t show it when they’re with other people but this man is STARVING for the MC. But he starves with respect, he’s tries so hard serve and support the MC in a way that doesn’t scare him. He’s very damn vocal of his hunger when they’re together.
