I couldn’t finish the story, but i will say one thing. I saw someone comment about how all the leads were powerless men that she shouldn’t have wasted her time on…and it kinda irked me because everyone is so used to powerful men coming to save the day,, or having high rankings that basically make things a little easy when it comes to ordering others around. I personally liked that their power was lower..this story doesn’t make their positions (at the point im up to) important to the plot. Like an imperial family on the decline?? So much could be done with that and then mixing in their family drama is another. Then there’s a margrave/count whatever he is…childhood friend who loves her sm. And chris, idk what he’d be considered, an informant? Task handler?..whatever he is he was strong physically just like the childhood friend. Why should ranking matter in a story about a woman escaping an unfair contract marriage and learning about sexual intimacy. It’s about lust and love, not about ruling the empire. Even as i say this..it did involve their rankings somewhat, but the politics of this world make it clear the story is about the outcasts..if u will.
I just finished this story in one sitting, and yeah, I think all the characters have terrible personalities (except May the maid—she’s the MVP of the story). But their personalities fit the plot and make the story good, and yeah, the men are powerless because the author wrote them that way
