Really? Was it like explicitly stated somewhere? I thought Seunghyun’s boss found him when he was in Japan plus he says something like “is my Korean hard to understand?” implying it’s not his first language/ he has an accent. I mean I’m just going off of what was stated in the manhwa.

i fail to see the logical leap where that somehow means he’s not korean that line doesn’t imply korean isn’t his first language; it just shows he’s unsure how he’s coming across in that moment. native speakers say stuff like “am i making sense?” or “is my english weird right now?” all the time without it meaning they suddenly learned the language second.

I mean sure that alone doesn’t mean much but that wasn’t my main reason for thinking he’s japanese. He was a kid in Japan with a japanese name, I think the most logical judgement there is that he’s japanese. The line was just another possible clue, which as you said could also mean nothing.
