if youre talking about nanako getting a male lover, then that is a deliberate change to the english subtitles that was made back when the show first ended. in the original japanese, nanakos partner's gender was never specified. the newer, discotek release fixes this and leaves nanakos partners gender unspecified. but other than that, i agree. the last few episodes got so heteronormative. and rei's death felt very forced. i wanted her to be happy, why did she have to die at all. it was so unfair.
manga ending is better idccc what yall say i never liked how the anime ended even tho it had a "good ending" it never felt right to me!!
