I feel it too. Because Jaheon wasn't of noble descent and also a man. So maybe Mugo was tortured for that? But I also feel like Jaheon was tortured and killed first and that's why Mugo wanted to turn into Mugo.

I think so too. Most likely Jaheon died first coz we saw him stuffed in the jar telling Mugo something before Mugo went all crazy.
