OK WAIT i was trying to figure out who the people trying to “curse” glunn to stay younger were and a few chapters ago i was like it sounds like his mom might have commissioned it… like the way the sorcerer was talking that was just the vibe i got. but why the hell would his mom be trying to ruin his life like this? i thought she loved him. but then i read a comment where someone reminded me that glunn is /already/ rotting away because of the dragon blood, he’s not gonna start spontaneously start rotting when he has a kid. the dragon blood in his system has been eating away at him this whole time as he ages because his body is inherently incompatible with it. when he has a kid of his own, it may just work less hard to keep his body alive since it has a new host so it’ll likely accelerate the decaying process. his mom watched the love of her life rot away slowly and knows her son would bear the same fate. so maybe the faction trying to keep glunn a child wasnt motivated by political sabotage, it was just his mom trying to reset the clock and keep her son alive for as long as possible?? and glunn just ran away from home like the sometimes reactionary and emotional goofball he has proven himself to be bc he doesnt wanna be a kid anymore???
