If he does that's so disappointing. I already don't care too much for omegaverse because it's such a lazy story telling device, but then when you have "beta/alpha turns into an omega for their alpha love interest" it's so stupid and even lazier.
God forbid we get a story where an alpha and a beta have to work through their feelings/prejudices and overcome some hardship, or fail to overcome them and end up with someone who can love someone even if they're not a destined alpha/omega pair.
It's also giving "Wow you straightened your gross curly hair and took off your nerd glasses and stopped dressing in frumpy clothes! I think I can love you now that you're hot!" kinda vibes but without having to make a "gross" plain average character.
