IKRRR, I really hope they gonna talk it out, like he was literally freaking raped, and no one talks about it. But tbh idk what’s with authors these days but u can see it throughout different stories that SA, rape are just completely brushed off, and used to add some spice to the story?!?!?!. Personally not a fan.
I'm on Hayden side for now, but this part really pisses me off. I thought he would give Brett more grace with his trauma but it's literally looks like he forgot.. Which I think is a plot hole no matter how Hayden 'hate' him now. They broke up because he sees how toxic Brett handles things, but him running from the problem is not healthy either
i hear you but i don't believe it's a plot hole.
if brett is detached from his emotions, hayden gets swept away by them. these are their fundamental flaws.
that sequence starts with hayden confronting brett for keeping secrets, and soon learns that he had committed several crimes. all in order to avenge him, even though he never asked for it.
brett had shown time and time again that he only saw their relationship as a transaction or as a game and that he never really saw him as a partner, which he underlines once more right after he confesses the rape and hayden tries to comfort him.
hayden found himself unable to connect emotionally with brett, realized that brett didn't trust him at all, and felt that brett didn't even like him that way. it dawned on him that it could never work out.
also, this is more my personal view than anything. but brett was raped as a result of trying to avenge hayden. he put himself at risk for him. when hayden says that he didn't want revenge, that he only wished for brett to be safe, it made me think he felt guilty or responsible for what happened.
i definitely understand what you mean. i hope brett's trauma gets explored and taken seriously because i love him as a character and i feel a lot for him.
i just don't think it's out of character for hayden! i think he has also gone through a lot and i don't fully blame him for his reaction. i actually think cutting off ties and trying to move on was a healthy decision. there's no point in trying to force your partner to change and fall in love with you when they're not into you like that. and i'm saying this as someone who's rooting for them.
Him running away from Brett is not the plot hole I'm talking about, it's the way he never mention or be sensitive about it around him is what I'm confuse about. I thought he would be more ya know, actually avoiding to even touch him! But I guess it kinda fitting the original 5 chapter of this story. I just thought he would have a character growth there, or the story would take it heart to heart more around the sensitive topic

I've come from the future to say that in chapter 60, Brett admits that he went to meet Hayden because he wanted to be comforted. It's very interesting how the author handles this, because Brett is someone with sociopathic traits, therefore he expresses his emotions in a way that is bizarre to most people, but it's natural that even the strangest creature would seek comfort in the face of such trauma, even if they don't consciously understand exactly why.

I realllyyy hope they go deeper into how Brett’s rape affected him in the long run, or at least mention it again, in season 1 it kind of foreshadowed how it was affecting him and I reallyyy hope they continue that otherwise I would feel sooo weird if they just threw that devastating event away
