It’s really confusing but I think they are. I think the black haired guy killed the dad like he’d planned, & wanted to know why, when he finally came back to do it, the blonde was still covered in bruises. Why say “I love you so much I could die,” if he was already dead? It’s ambiguous on purpose, but I wanna go with my interpretation
