The next chapter he just bandages her up and he was actually very upset she got hit by the carriage.
Probably around 2-4 more chapters before he forces her to choose between getting uncle bill out of jail or giving herself to him.
Her uncle was blamed for the grandmother getting injured as the garden blew up from them getting new technology for their lights. The ML’s mom blamed Laylas uncle and ML found the perfect opportunity to get Layla as he knew she would never go to him willingly.
Claudia is horrible too bc she knows that the ML is forcing himself on Layla and that ML would have gotten her no matter what and she still doesn’t really feel bad for Layla just wants to get rid of her as she wants to be the duchess real bad. Claudia also has feelings for Ret (ML’s cousin) as well(it’s mutual)
