I would’ve preferred it if they added the ML way later into the story and focused on the FL’s tragic upbringing, such as the FL warming up to the servants first and finding comfort in finally being treated as a human being (which I guess they sort of did but they kinda butchered the experience). THEN bringing out the ML! Make him distant and neglectful, only for the servants around to be like “STOP STOP CUT THE ACT YOURE FUCKING UP OUR HARD WORK SHE WAS FINALLY COMFORTABLE , NOT THIS ONE MLORD!!;;”. The reality check hits FL hard, regressing her back to her former personality much like when she was back home, now forcing her image of her Husband as more of a Master-servant relationship and becoming even more cold and distant than he was. ML now surprised by this change is obviously confused; as all the servants internally all agree to separate the two for the time being for FL’s comfort. As the two are now separated ML only catches glimpses of FL’s awkward attempts of familiarity towards those around her, but clumsy as she is at interacting, she blends in seamlessly when assisting them with tasks happily enjoying her time with them. Which is the far opposite of when he first met her, now approaching her curiously through planned coincidence does he find out how she truly acts towards him (as a master and servant) and THEN he looks into her past. ML still not fond of the idea of marriage due to (insert backstory reason here) he at least wants FL to feel comfortable around him since he’s not a monster and also partly guilt. The story then continues with the ML struggling to make the FL more comfortable around him with the help of the servants. THHHHHHHHENNNNNN THE ROMANCE STARTS TO BLOSSOM with both protagonists free of misunderstanding and the story continues on with the rest of plot as they both heal each other’s emotional wounds through LOVE…..!!! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
……but of course that’s my opinion and matter of tastes and am I in no way trying to insult anyone who likes this manga or the writer themselves! I just think the manga was a little… soulless >_>;
I mean, maybe it’s the pacing, at least I think it’s that for me. She starts blushing over him all over the place the first time he isn’t actively antagonistic toward her and he just falls in love with her after like two conversations. It’s just awkward feeling. And there hasn’t been any clarification on if he actually is a womanizer or if those are just rumors because he gets along well with the commoners, which feels kind of off? In a way to me. Like you think he’d reassure her if it wasn’t true, or confirm it but say he doesn’t want affairs/ concubines after marriage if it was. Idk it’s just overall not very satisfying like you said

These character are…. Not to my taste…. It’s not BAD per-se but it’s uhhhhh definitely not enjoyable to read for some reason? Very BleGh
