y'all have no idea how heard & seen i feel lmfao. i remember commenting right around the time payback & "into the thrill" was getting updates, & i said something like the "characters from into the thrill have better chemistry & they barely know each other." & the amount of hate i got on it lol. people were saying that it's bc they're supposed to be awkward, they just got together, the story is rushed, the art slightly changed, etc. but they've ways looked like they were doing gymnastics for sex scenes lol. their dialogues, facial expressions, & atmosphere were always dry. i like to compare this with "into the thrill" bc the characters are pretty similar with how they're all dry & soulless almost. but it's charming & unique with the one & dull with the other. i definitely liked payback bc of the emotional complexity of it, but the characters never seemed affectionate or authentic.
Haven’t read into the thrill but couldn’t have said it any better. I love the art so it was disappointing while I was reading that there was nothing between the characters. It honestly would have been better with no romance if you could even call it that. The plot was really intriguing and it was good but that’s all this story had to it, and also like you said the emotional complexity of it but that’s all.

honestly it’s an okay read. Like for me there was like no chemistry between the Yohan and Jay like at all, it felt really dry. Sure there were some moments where I was like cute there’s something there but for the most part no. And the constant sexual assault? ugh get out of my face. And i’m not about to be gaslighted how everything was consensual because it was not, multiple times he said no or stop. I enjoyed the plot but it was sort of anti climatic in the end for me. Had there been better chemistry and no sexual assault between the main characters I would have liked it better. The plot was interesting and played out good, I think what ruined it for me was the mc and ml like no chemistry there and again the sexual assault. but wtv that’s just my two cents.
