Imo that would make zero sense especially because of the flashbacks of their youth showing how Hyeondo has been devoted and in love after Yuhyeon for years now, long before Yuhyeon had the company.
A better explanation is that being a chairman is Hyeondo's biggest source of power and in their world of money-grabbing cutthroat murderous business, that's very indispensable, especially during this very crucial time where Hyeondo has more enemies now going after Yuhyeon.
