I have long suspected that the person Juheon hated the most is himself. Which is why he was so attached to Dohu who was interested in him in spite of how he viewed himself. Having someone love him unconditionally enable him to love himself even just a little. That's why when the illusion broke, Juheon retreated back to the mentality that no one would ever like someone like him.
Ironically, despite Dohu's original intention, everything Dohu had said in regard to Juheon was always sincere. Dohu had seen the high and the low of Juheon, yet he still fell for him.
